MUNAY-KI RITES - INITIATIONS

THE NEXT STEP IN EVOLUTION!

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT - WWW.MUNAY-KI.ORG

The Munay-Ki. Rites transform and upgrade your luminous energy field. They are energetic transmissions that heal the wounds of the past, the karmic and genetic programs and beliefs you inherited. They re-inform your DNA, enabling you to grow a new body that ages, heals, and dies differently.

The Luminous Energy Field contains an archive of all of our personal and ancestral memories, of all early-life trauma, and even of painful wounds from former lifetimes. These records or imprints are stored in full colour and intensity of emotion. Imprints are like dormant computer programs that when activated, compel us toward behaviours, relationships, accidents and illnesses that parody the initial wounding.

Our personal history indeed repeats itself. Imprints of physical trauma are stored in the outermost layer of the Luminous Energy Field. Emotional imprints are stored in the second layer, soul imprints in the third, and spiritual imprints in the fourth and deepest layer. Imprints in the Luminous Energy Field predispose us to follow certain pathways in life. They orchestrate the incidents, experiences, and people we attract to ourselves. Imprints propel us to re-create painful dramas and heart-breaking encounters, yet ultimately guide us toward situations wherein we can heal our ancient soul wounds.

The Luminous Energy Field contains a template of how we live, how we age, how we heal, and how we might die. When there is no imprint for disease in the Luminous Energy Field, recovery from an illness happens at tremendous speed. By the same token, imprints for diseases can depress the immune system, and it can take an extremely long time for us to regain our health during an illness. None of us wants to spend months convalescing when we could have recovered in a matter of days or weeks. When we erase the negative imprint that caused the onset of illness, the immune system can rapidly eradicate the disease.

In the outermost layer of the Luminous Energy Field is the membrane or “skin” of the luminous body. This membrane serves as a defensive cocoon in the same way the skin is the protective membrane of the body. The imprints of physical trauma and disease are etched onto this membrane like designs cut into glass.

The Nine Rites of Passage

Rite 1 - The Healer’s Rite Connects you to a lineage of luminous healers from the past to assist you in your personal transformation, awakening the healing power so that everyone you touch is blessed. We access tremendous spiritual assistance; ancient healers who help heal the wounds of the past and of our ancestors.

Rite 2 - Bands of Power Five energy belts are woven into your luminous energy field (LEF) for protection. They act as filters, breaking down any negative energies that come toward you into one of the five elements, earth, air, fire, water and light, feeding your LEF instead of allowing those energies to make you sick.

Rite 3 - Harmony Rite A transmission of the 7 Archetypes into the Chakras. First you receive the archetypes of serpent, jaguar, hummingbird and eagle; next you receive three archangels: the Keeper of the Lower World (our unconscious), the Keeper of the Middle World (our waking world), and the Protector of the Upper World (our super-conscious).

Rite 4 - Seer’s Rite Pathways of light connect the visual cortex with the third eye and heart chakra. This awakens the inner seer and your ability to perceive the invisible world of energy and Spirit.

Rite 5 - Daykeepers Rite You connect to a lineage of master healers from ancient times. Daykeepers can call on ancient altars to heal and bring balance to the earth, and on the sun to rise each day, bringing us into harmony with mother Earth. This rite helps you begin to heal your inner feminine, step beyond fear, and practice peace.

Rite 6 - Wisdomkeepers Rite You connect to a lineage of luminous beings from the past and the future. This rite helps you to begin to heal your inner masculine, step outside of time, and taste infinity.

Rite 7 - Earthkeepers Rite This rite connects you to the archangels that are guardians of our solar system, stewards of all life on Earth. It lifts you from your earth-bound existence and sets your spirit free to begin your journey to the stars -beginning with the sun, our local star- so you may dream your world into being.

Rite 8 - Starkeepers Rite This rite helps your physical body to evolve into Homo Luminous; the aging process is slowed down, your DNA is re-informed, and you become more resistant to disease. You accept the seat around a holy fire at the centre of the Sun, a place that has been held for you since the beginning of time.

Rite 9 - Creator Rite As it awakens the Creator-light within, this rite brings stewardship for all creation - from the smallest grain of sand to the largest cluster of galaxies. Once you discover that Spirit not only works through you but AS YOU, and all of creation is happening inside you, the stewardship then becomes natural.

As you work with the germination of these rites you’ll be touched and blessed by angels. You simply need to open yourself to the wisdom of the Earthkeepers, and all will be bestowed upon you.

NUSTA KARPAY/RITES - THE 7 GODDESS INITIATIONS FROM PERU

Awakening of the Divine Feminine

These initiations are open to both men and women who wish to receive them. They are also suitable for newcomers and those who have trained in traditional healing ways. These transmissions offer each participant a profound connection with to the Nustakuna known as the feminine energies in the Andes.

High in the mountain range known as the Andes, the beauty of ancient ceremonies and wisdom embodied within living ancestral languages of word and ritual hold a blueprint for creating a vibrant, heart-centred life within a living universe. The people have survived there for centuries, living above treeline at high altitude in simple homes made of the very substance of Pachamama, sheltered within the stones and soil of our Mother Earth.

In recent times, the signs from the Apus and the ancestral prophecies handed down within the lineage of healer-mystics converged into a message: It is time to share the ceremonies and teachings. Our survival as the human children of Pachamama depends upon restoring sacred reciprocity ~ Ayni ~ and a living balance of the forces of life in our world.

The deceptively simple, yet immensely powerful practices of the Andes, transcend cultural differences between the Andes and the Western world. As you expand your own skills and abilities, you will find your heart opening into a vivid awareness that you are part of the living universe, moving into a profound sense of alignment with the natural forces of our world. The rich array of practices that have been preserved and kept alive in the remote villages of the high mountains of the Andes offer the possibility of transforming our relationship with ourselves, with each other and with the fast-paced modern world in which we live. The Nustakuna are the princesses and goddesses of the mountains (apus) and waters along the highlands of Peru and Bolivia. The NUSTA KARPAY/RITES is the initiation of the Seven Andean Goddesses from the Incan shamanic tradition.

Now is the time for the great transformation and balance of humans to bring healing to Mother Earth (Pachamama). The Nustakuna help immensely with this balance. The intent of the NUSTA KARPAY/RITES is to soften the heart of both men and women and to help empower women. The seven initiations are seeds of light or energetic points of transmission to balance the feminine and masculine energies within you. As you heal and balance the Divine Feminine within yourself, so do you help to heal Pachamama.

About the NUSTA KARPAY/RITES

NUSTA KARPAY/RITES are Quechua words meaning ‘Seven Goddess Initiations’. These special, beautiful and authentic initiations are currently spreading around the World.

Who may receive the NUSTA KARPAY/RITES? The NUSTA KARPAY/RITES are open to both men and women, and are available to everyone regardless of their spiritual orientation. The NUSTA KARPAY/RITES are not only for those who have apprenticed in the Andean or other ancient spiritual traditions. They are for those who wish to heal the Divine Feminine within themselves, and carry that healing into the world, and for those who wish to bring greater peace and unity to our planet.

What are the NUSTA KARPAY/RITES? In the Andean spiritual tradition, the Nustakuna are the Goddesses and Sacred Archetypal Feminine energies of Nature. They are the original princesses of the Andean cosmology, and are sourced from the great mountains and sacred lakes in Peru. They are also connected to other waters and mountains on our planet. In the Quechua language of the Andes, the word “Karpay” means a rite or ceremony of initiation.

The NUSTA KARPAY/RITES were gifted to us from the Andean Q’ero medicine women and men of Peru, via Don Mariano Quispe in 2010. They recognized and responded to the cry of the Great Mother, Pachamama, to heal her wounds and imbalances. These wounds and imbalances of the Mother are reflected in our wounds and disharmony, and in the wounds and imbalances of humanity. The Q’ero medicine men and women understood that the surest way to bring harmony and balance back to our Mother Earth, Pachamama, and to bring ourselves into Right Relationship with the Pachamama and the sacred feminine was by gifting these ancient rites to re-introduce and elevate the Divine Feminine to her rightful place.

You will notice that when you commit to the workshop, the Nusta begin to work within you. Be alert to their conversation, through your dreams, imaginings and experiences with nature.

What can I expect to experience from receiving these rites?

The NUSTA KARPAY/RITES are given as energetic seeds of the Feminine Goddess Archetypes, and transmitted into your seven chakras and luminous energy field. The chakras are like the organs of our luminous energy field, and hold all our histories, as well as, our light and our shadow pieces. As you receive and integrate the initiation of the NUSTA KARPAY/RITES, you begin to stir the contents of your chakras, bringing to the surface any parts of yourself that as of yet have not been healed or honoured. You will feel the impact of the Nustakuna immediately, but as with the cycles of the moon and the cycles in nature, Her alchemy works in cycles through you. The Nustakuna have gentle yet powerful energy; to deeply heal and restore the balance of feminine within us.

Through our connection to the Nustakuna, you awaken a deep rapport with the divine feminine, not only within yourself, but with the feminine in all of creation. Here, you also recognize and begin to heal your true relationship and connection to Mother Earth and all living beings. Through the powerful initiations of the rites you will experience a real “quickening” in your spiritual growth and personal healing.

The healing energy of the Nustakuna will help you strengthen your connection with all the feminine aspects within you and around you, on earth and the cosmos, through many layers.

These initiations have a deep effect, they support and accelerate your spiritual growth. They help you find a new balance with yourself, connected with the healing of Mother Earth.

These beautiful energies will help to heal the wounded ego, reduce many fears, guilt, and enable you to let go of the feeling of the need to control everything. It will allow you to be your own inner master again. The revitalised deep connection with All and unconditional love will lead you directly to your heart! You can live in the new energy that is already present, but which has been hard to capture until now. First, we have to heal our old wounds, moving through the layers, gaining insights and growing our consciousness. Immediately, the flow of love will come as a constant companion in our life! The NUSTA KARPAY/RITES will allow men to soften inside, while developing more empathy and getting more in tune again with their feelings and intuitions. These initiations will bring women into their own Goddess energy and the original deep femininity.

  • The Rites

  • 1. Mama Ocllo She is the daughter of Father Sun and Mother Earth and originates from Lake Titicaca. She is the Earth Goddess, Great Mother of all Goddesses and also the Goddess of Wisdom. The essence of Mama Ocllo is to ground us in our own centre, to find our inner sanctity. This rite heals your female power and restores balance. This rite prepares you to receive the initiations from the other rites, as it opens your chakras and connects each one with a luminous spiral of light from your root to your crown. During this rite you will receive the ‘seeds of light’ in each of your chakras. These seeds are connected to the 7 shamanic archetypes through 7 stones (normal stones or chumpi stones).

    2. Doña Mujia The Goddess of Water. Mujia means ‘mermaid’ and stands for the ‘spirit of the water’. The energy connected to this Goddess is about ‘letting go’. This initiation helps us release the negative aspects of our ego and opens you to the concept of selfless union with others. It assists you in releasing your connections to your ‘roles’ while inviting you to transform the roles into positive interactions. This is a ‘Flowering rite’, the tools used for this initiation are flowers and water.

    3. Mama Simone The Goddess of our ancestors. You connect with the ancient feminine lineage, the ancestors, connecting with your roots, coming home to find yourself. This rite enables you to connect not only with Mother Earth, but also to achieve a deeper connection with yourself and the way in which you connect with the land you call home.

    4. Doña Teresa She is the Goddess of Harmony and Softness, connected to our soul. Associated with the heart shaped mountain near apu Ausengate in Peru. This rite opens your heart to all that is. It clears the energy around your heart so that you may experience your emotions purely without judgment, and so that you may see life with clarity through the eyes of your heart.

    5. Maria Sakapana Spiral of the Wind, She is the Goddess of Communication. Maria Skapana is associated with the two physical locations: Bolivia/Peru altiplano, near Lake Titicaca and a location between Q’eros Nation and apu Asusungate. These are the places where the paqos (Inca shamans/priests) and others go to open up and clear their fifth chakra to speak their truth. This rite invites you to release all that holds you back from speaking your truth, from stepping into your True Self. This is a deeply cleansing rite

    6. Huana Huaman Tikkla Connection to the Falcon Temple/the Temple of Clear Vision. This is the journey you take to gain clarity and to do our deep visionary work. With this rite you are connected to the spirits of the Falcon, Hawk, Eagle, Owl and Condor to assist you in understanding life with clarity and with a higher perspective. All of these are considered feminine characteristics. This rite is an energetic transmission for the opening of your third eye, inner vision and the way to connect with the spirit realm. The tool for this rite is one of your favourite items that symbolize ‘vision, perspective and seeing’.

    7. Tomasa Huaman Tikkla Sister of Huana Huaman Tikkla, they reside together. The Goddess of Freedom. The energy of this rite is ‘transformation and liberation’. This is the rite of transformation, it opens your crown chakra connecting you to your True Self. This rite is the integration of all the Nustas and their blessings, connecting you to the 7 sisters, the 7 stars of the Pleiades. The tools we use for this rite are 3 candles with which you will work for 3 weeks.

    The Lineage.

The Munay-Ki helps us become instruments of peace and agents of change and transformation. As you are initiated into the Rites, you join a group of ordinary men and women who lead extraordinary lives. As you experience the Munay-Ki, you’ll feel the presence and wisdom of these luminous ones who have broken out of ordinary time and now dwell in infinity.

As we engage the luminous lineage, we actually “remember” making our way across the Bering Straits or crossing the Sonora Desert into Central America, or even before that, trekking over the Himalayas on our great journey north from India.

When we partner with the Earthkeepers of the future, we can upgrade the quality of our DNA to grow new bodies. This runs contrary to popular belief, which says that our genes can not be changed. Earthkeepers understand that you are not your genes, that you are your dreams. When you are free of the bounds of time, the future can reach backwards like a giant hand to push you forward to your healed destiny.

As you receive the Munay-Ki rites, your chakras will become clear and you’ll acquire what the Earthkeepers call the rainbow body, the energy body that will carry you safely beyond death.

“We have been the keepers of rites that usher in who we are becoming as a people, as a planet. These processes are not only for the Indians, but for the entire world.”

    – Don Manuel Quispe to Alberto Villoldo, Ph.D.

The Origin of the Rites of the Munay-Ki

The rites of the Munay-Ki were brought to the West by Dr. Alberto Villoldo, distilled from his work as a medical anthropologist with the high shamans of the Amazon and Andes.

    A message from Dr. Villoldo:

Rites of passage and initiation have been practiced for millennia by all peoples in the Earth. The rites of the Munay-Ki are based on initiatory practices of the shamans of the Andes and the Amazon. They are stripped of all trace of the indigenous cultures they come from. I did this to respect the native traditions, and to avoid the idea that persons from the West can become traditional shamans or Indians. I offer these rites with full permission from my teacher, don Manuel Quispe, who was the last great medicine man of the Q’ero Inka nation. Any fault or flaw in their presentation is exclusively my own.

The Seers rite is practiced among the North Coast peoples of Peru, (the descendants of the Chimu and Moche cultures), and by the seers and trackers of the Amazon.

The Harmony Rite comes from the lowland Q’ero, the Huachipayre people from the edge of the Amazon. I learned it from don Alejandro Cahuanchi, a renowned healer.

The Bands of Power were transmitted by Juan Victor Nuñez del Prado, a friend and colleague, whose father was one of the discoverers of the Q’ero nation.

The Healers Rite is known as the Hampe blessing and comes from the highland Q’ero people.

The Daykeepers Rite is known among the Andean Paqos as the Pampamesayok, referring to the lowlands and valleys of the ‘pampa’, and to the mesa or altar.

The Wisdomkeepers Rite is known among the ndean Paqos as the Altomesayok rite, referring to the high mountains of the Andes. Don Manuel Quispe was the great Altomesayok of Q’ero.

The Earthkeepers Rite is known among the Andean Paqos as the Kurak Akuyek rite, referring to the elder who ‘masticates’ the wisdom to nurture the young ones who follow.

The Starkeepers Rite is known as the Mosoq Karpay, which means the ‘new rite’ in the Qechua language. This rite announces and prepares one for the ‘time to come.’

The Creator Rites are known as the Taitanchis rite. The word Taitanchis literally translates as ‘God.’

These rites are not only stages of initiation, but perhaps steps for the evolution of humanity. As nations fight for bits of territory and battle over land, we must find the wisdom to create peace among all peoples. As our space telescopes show us images of a vast and immeasurable Universe, we must find a human story that is inclusive of the stars. And as our ability to destroy the world increases, we are called to step up to the task of assuming stewardship for all creation.

In essence, the rites are about stewardship. They are not ego-awards or recognition of any kind of achievement, nor do they make anyone special. On the contrary, they make one uniquely unimportant. Only then, from a position of no-ego, can we truly be of service.

    In Munay,

    Alberto Villoldo PhD

    The Great Principles.

The Great Principles are the foundational practices of the Earthkeepers; the basic fundamental code of behavior; the most elevated and sublime form of their wisdom. When you practice non-violence you create peace. When you speak truth, everything you say becomes so. When you practice integrity you repair the world and it becomes whole. When you live with moderation you preserve your life force and live a long and healthy life. When you live in generosity everything comes to you.

    Nonviolence

Bring no harm to yourself or others.

    Truthfulness

Be true to your word, and let your word be true.

    Integrity

Do not steal, not even a glance; walk your talk.

Moderation Use wisely the life force within you.

Generosity Give more than you take for nothing in the world really belongs to you.

  • Archetypes.

  • The archetypes are organizing principles of the Universe. They have been planted as seeds in each of your chakras. It is important to remember that you have received them as seeds, they are pure potential – it is your relationship with them that will grow them into the powerful forces that inform your chakras in new ways. That is why we do fire ceremonies, to grow these seeds with fire. As you develop your own relationship with the archetypes, your descriptions will evolve from your experience and become your own.

  • Serpent:

  • Each of the archetypal animals exudes a different flavor of energy. Serpent symbolizes knowledge, sexuality and healing. Perhaps the most universal archetype, serpent has always represented the healing power of nature. The staff of medicine, or Caduceus, is formed by two serpents intertwined around a rod. The serpent teaches us to shed our past the way she sheds her skin so we may walk with beauty on the belly of the Mother.

  • Jaguar:

  • Where serpent represents the power of healing which is gradual and incremental; jaguar stands for sudden transformation. That which endures is always changing and renewing itself; that which remains unchanged perishes. We can transform our bodies so that they heal more rapidly and age more elegantly by embodying the forces represented by jaguar. Consider the metaphor that we have nine lives, like cats. When we reach the end of one of these lifetimes (others might call them stages or phases), it is important to give the old self a decent burial, and then leap like a jaguar into who we are becoming. Otherwise, we can spend years patching and fixing an old self which we have outgrown. Jaguar teaches us to step beyond fear, violence and death. She is the life force of the jungle and the steward of the life force.

  • Hummingbird:

  • Represents the courage required to embark on an epic journey, much like hummingbirds migrate over the Atlantic every year from Brazil to Canada. Once touched by the energies of this archetype, we are propelled on our own epic journey that eventually leads us back to our source, where our spirit was spawned. When you do not have enough time, money or know-how for what you are attempting, hummingbird can provide the courage and guidance necessary for success. Hummingbird drinks only from the nectar of life, seeking the flowers not the garbage, knowing stillness even in motion. Not built for flight yet undertaking and accomplishing the impossible journey.

  • Condor or Eagle:

  • Eagle perceives the entire panorama of life without becoming bogged down in its details. The energies of eagle assist us in finding the guiding vision of our lives. The eyes of the condor see into the past and the future, helping to know where we come from, and who we are becoming. Eagle allows us to rise above the mundane battles that occupy our lives and consume our energy and attention. Eagle gives us wings to soar above trivial day-to-day struggles, into the high peaks close to Heaven. Eagle and condor represent the self-transcending principle in nature. Eagle pushes us out of the nest to spread our own wings so that we may always fly wing to wing with the Great Spirit.

  • Huascar:

  • Lord of life, Lord of death -the harmonizing principle of the Lower World, our inner world. He/she is the renewer of the Earth and our own personal need of renewing those fields that are fallow, those places that need aerating. The gift of Huascar is a harmonic relationship with our inner shadow and hidden places.

  • Quetzelcoatl:

  • Lord of the dawn, Day Bringer, Morning Star. Quetzal is a beautiful jungle bird and coatl is the feathered serpent represented by the Caduceus of Western Medicine. As the organizer of the middle world, when you come into relationship with Quetzlcoatl you don’t have to micromanage your life.

  • Pachakuti:

  • Keeper of the possibilities and the organizing principle of the heavenly Upper World, Pachakuti embodies the concept of circular time, stepping outside of linear time to make time stand still and bring heavenly order.

  • HEAVEN AND EARTH

  • Life is a delicate balance between the changing and the unchanging. The Earthkeepers believe the LEF has three parts. When people die, one part of their essence (the changing) returns to the Earth, to be reabsorbed into nature and become one with all life. Another part (power and wisdom) returns to the sacred mountains, and a third part (the unchanging) returns to the Sun.

Earth is the receptive and nurturing principle with power to mulch and renew. When saluting the Earth we acknowledge our relationship with all life forms, from the trees to the fishes, the birds, and the stones, the four legged and the two legged. When saluting the Heavens we acknowledge our star brother and sisters, and we dedicate our healing effort to the Great Spirit, the Creator of all.

    THE RITE OF THE WOMB

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENT - WWW.THERITEOFTHEWOMB.COM

THIS LINEAGE OF WOMEN THROUGH THE JUNGLE MEDICINE HAS GIVEN US THE 13TH RITE OF THE MUNAY-KI: THE RITE OF THE WOMB.

Both Men and Woman can receive this Rite! All life comes from the womb of the Earth and all men come from a woman’s womb.

  • It is just as important that men become womb keepers, as it is for women.

  • The Rite of the Womb - the 13th Rite

There is a lineage of women who freed themselves from suffering. This lineage of women wants us to remember: The womb is not a place to store fear and pain; the womb is to create and give birth to life.

The feminine spirit of the jungle reminds us of this simple and vital truth: The womb is not a place to store fear and pain; the womb is to create and give birth to life. This lineage of women through the jungle medicine has given us the 13th rite of the Munay-Ki: The Rite of the Womb.

Once you receive it you share it with as many women as possible.

The womb is not a place to store fear and pain; the womb is to create and give birth to life. Let’s heal our womb; let’s heal our mother’s, sister’s, and daughter’s wombs. And in this way bring healing to our Mother Earth.

This rite is for both men and women and it is a great time of deep healing and honoring of the Self. By healing our wounds of the past we can be "whole" again and we can then create and dream our new world into being, without the baggage we have carried for so long.

This rite rapidly furthers one’s personal ascension process, whilst gaining personal understanding and growth during the integration period.

It is an initiation process and should be treated as such. When one experiences initiation it is a personal journey into the Self and it requires that you allow sufficient time for healing and integration.

We are all different so where possible, take as long as you need for your healing process to complete itself. It is not a race to the finish line but rather a integrative healing journey that requires time, effort and understanding.

    CHAKRAS

Regardless of where we are born, everyone has a skeleton with the exact same number of bones. In the same way, we all share the same luminous anatomy, which includes the chakras and acupuncture meridians.

The chakras are swirling disks of energy. They spin three to four inches outside the body and link to our spine and central nervous system acting as a direct pipeline to the human neural network. They rotate clockwise, in the same direction that the spiral arms of the galaxy revolve. Each chakra has a unique frequency that we perceive as one of the seven colors of the rainbow. The chakras in a newborn child display their pure color, from red in the first chakra to violet in the seventh. As we grow older the colors become dull. Trauma and loss leave their toxic residues behind, and the sludge that adheres to a chakra does not permit it to vibrate at its pure frequency, and physical aging is accelerated. When a shaman completes her healing process her chakras become clear. They spin freely and vibrate with their original purity again.

When you clear all of your chakras you acquire a “rainbow body.” Each center vibrates at its natural frequency, and you radiate the seven colors of the rainbow. According to legend, when you acquire the rainbow body you can make the journey beyond death to the Spirit world. You are able to assist others in their healing, and you can die consciously since you already know the way back home. The jungle shamans believe death is a great predator that stalks each and every one of us. When your chakras are clear you are no longer stalked by death, you are claimed by life.

    *Earth Chakras

The five lower chakras, from the root to the throat, are nourished primarily by the Earth. The four upper chakras are fed by the energies of the Sun. The sky-god religions emphasize the development of the upper chakras to the neglect of the lower. The sky-god civilizations perfected technology, reason, and logic. The Earth-goddess religions emphasize the lower chakras to the neglect of the upper ones. These civilizations remained agrarian cultures with little interest in Western-style progress. Today we must develop the gifts of both the earth chakras and the sky chakras.

Like the organs in the body, each chakra performs a unique function. The first and second chakras digest emotional energies, churning them over to draw out nutrients. When sludge builds in our second chakra (where the fight-or-flight response resides) we interpret the world as hostile and aggressive. The solar plexus, heart, and throat chakras (third, fourth, and fifth) are nurtured by the finer energies of love, compassion, and empathy. They are not equipped to digest emotions of any kind.

*Sky Chakras In the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth chakras, development becomes transpersonal. We explore increasingly subtle domains.

When the sixth chakra is malfunctioning, the individual confuses information with knowledge. He feels he has attained great spiritual truths, when all he has is a collection of facts. Spiritual materialism is an endemic dysfunction of the third-eye chakra.

An awakened third eye gives you knowledge of the past and future and allows you to envision alternative destinies.

The seventh chakra at the very top of the head is our portal to the Heavens, in the same way that the first chakra is the portal to the Earth. The lesson of the seventh chakra is mastery of time. Whereas in the sixth chakra the healer acquires knowledge of past and future events, when we awaken the gifts of the seventh chakra we are able to influence those events.

The negative expression of the seventh chakra is spiritual regression masquerading as enlightenment.

The eighth chakra acts as the blueprint to create the physical body. This chakra is like a carpenter who builds a chair (the physical body) and later burns it in his fireplace. The carpenter feels no loss, as he knows that he can simply build another out of new wood. The eighth chakra is unaffected by the death of the body.

In this center we become aware of the Beholder -known in Buddhism as the Witness- a self that has been present from the beginning of our spiritual journey. Now disengaged from the mind, it is able to behold the mind with all of its dramas without subscribing to them. The Beholder witnesses our life unfolding, and understands that all of the stories we use to describe ourselves are only stories. The Beholder perceives everything but cannot itself be perceived, because it cannot be turned into an object of perception.

The eighth chakra resides within the Luminous Energy Field. It hovers above the head like a spinning sun. It is our connection with the Great Spirit, the place where God dwells within us.

Eventually, the Beholder will begin to reveal its own source, which is Spirit, or the ninth chakra, which resides outside the Luminous Energy Field and extends throughout the cosmos. It is the heart of the universe, at one with the Great Spirit. As the eighth chakra is where God dwells within us, the ninth chakra is the part of us that dwells within the Creator.

The eighth chakra corresponds to the Christian concept of the soul, which is personal and finite. The ninth chakra corresponds to Spirit, which is impersonal and infinite.

The ninth chakra resides at the heart of the Universe, it is outside time and space – the Self that has never been born and will never die. This Self is prior to time, and it never enters the river through which time flows. This is the self that never left the Garden of Eden.
